About her
She is 82, originally from Kerala, and lives in her own home in Newton. She's warm, sharp-witted, and independent in most of her daily routine; she doesn't need heavy hands-on nursing care. What she needs is good company and a gentle, watchful presence: her memory has begun to change, and we want someone kind nearby through the day and night.
A typical day is unhurried: breakfast and conversation, help with meals (she lights up for Kerala food), light tidying, a walk or a drive to run errands, visit a friend, or attend a weekend service, and the small routines that keep a day feeling like her own.
The roles
Daytime companion & caregiver
$28–50/hour · 6–12 hr shifts
Companionship, meals and cooking, light housekeeping, medication reminders, outings and appointments. Driving her (your car or ours) is a major plus.
Overnight presence
Flat nightly rate · sleep on site
Sleep comfortably in a private room and simply be there if she wakes and needs reassurance. Ideal alongside another job or studies.
Lead caregiver & shift supervisor (LPN or similar experience)
$50/hour
One senior member of the team to anchor routines, oversee medications, and be our family's first call. Licensure welcome but not required; judgment and experience are what count.
What we offer
Above-market pay: $28–50/hr ($40–50 for lead roles), reviewed as you grow with us.
Real employment: legal W-2 payroll with direct deposit every two weeks, workers' compensation coverage, earned sick time, and a written work agreement.
A stable, respectful home: consistent weekly schedule, one client, no rushed 15-minute visits, meals included on shift, and a family that treats its care team as professionals.
Long-term intent: we're hiring a team we hope will be with her for years, not filling a temp shift.
Who you are
Kind, patient, and reliable. Experience with elders or memory care is valuable, but character comes first. No license required.
A safe, confident driver (major plus, not required for every role).
Malayalam speaker and/or comfortable cooking Kerala food: a major plus for every role.
Non-smoker (no smoking or vaping on shift or in the car).
Legally authorized to work in the U.S., with two references we can call.
